The Toronto Maple Leafs are in a really good position. They have clinched a playoff seed and well within their reach to secure the top position in the NHL North Division as well. The only priority right now is to stay healthy and put points on the board. Despite the loss, the Leafs were able to do just that. For the most part.

Matthews extended his goal streak to 4 games with one of his most spectacular tips of the year thus far. If this year has proven anything, it is that Auston Matthews is one of the NHL’s most talented, efficient, and versatile scorers. He can light teams up from anywhere. Except on the power play that is.

In other Leafs news, following his assist in Saturday’s game, Nick Foligno left early due to injury. Hopefully, it wasn’t serious.
