Toronto Blue Jays 2 Boston Red Sox 1

The Blue Jays went into Saturday nights game against the Red Sox looking to rebound after a poor performance on Friday night.

Toronto did just that taking down the Red Sox on their home field.

Fridays loss to Boston was heavily criticized by fans and the coaching staff.

The Jays made costly errors which in turn cost them the game.

Toronto was able to turn it around on Saturday night.

The young Jays looked much better on Saturday as Chase Anderson took the mound.

Anderson went three innings giving up a hit and one run posting one strike out.

Zack Godley got the start on the mound for Boston.

Godley pitched four innings giving up three hits while striking out three.

While the starting pitching was good for Toronto the bull-pen was the star on Saturday.

Toronto got a much needed boost from its bull pen on Saturday with Font, Kay, Romano, and Bass all pitching well.

Kay went three innings in relief giving up just two hits while posting three strike outs.

The Jays batters also came to play in game two as Bichette, Guerrero, and Grichuk, all went 2-4 at the plate.

Bichette and Tellez both had RBI’s in the game to give the Jays the win.

With the win Toronto improves to 5-7 on the season sitting one game ahead of Boston in the AL East.

Toronto will look to build on the momentum on Sunday when they play the Red Sox in the final game of the three game set.

First pitch is set for 1:45pm EST.
