Toronto Blue Jays 3 Boston Red Sox 5

The Blue Jays went into Sundays matchup with the Red Sox looking to build on their win from Saturday night.

Toronto fell behind early on Sunday but were able to keep it close throughout.

Until a Mitch Moreland two run home run sent the Jays packing in the ninth inning.

Matt Shoemaker got the start on the mound Sunday for Toronto going deep into the sixth inning.

Shoemaker gave up just three hits and two earned runs while striking out six Boston batters.

Toronto used just two relievers on Sunday. Ryan Borucki and Thomas Hatch.

The Red Sox sent Nathan Eovaldi to the mound on Sunday and he shut the Blue Jays down offensively.

Eovaldi pitched six innings giving up six hits while giving up three earned runs. Eovaldi struck out ten Toronto batters as well.

Torontos hitters had no answer for the Boston bull pen on Sunday.

The Blue Jays were held with out a hit in the final three innings.

With the Jays bats silent late in the game all the pressure was put on Toronto’s bull pen to perform.

Bostons Mitch Moreland took Thomas Hatch deep in the ninth inning to give Boston the walk off win.

With the loss Toronto falls to 5-8 on season. Toronto now sits last in the AL East.

Toronto will now head to Buffalo for a two game series with the Miami Marlins.

Buffalo will act as Toronto’s home field for the pandemic ridden season.

Toronto will take on Miami on Tuesday night at 6:40 pm EST.
