Toronto FC would have thought that they were good value for all three points on Saturday evening. However, there was a twist in the tail as Carlos Vela scored a late equaliser.

It wasn’t all bad news for TFC as they have now made sure of their playoff spot with the point.

The players can now look ahead to the post-season hoping that they can emulate their feat of making it to two MLS Cup finals in the past three years.

TFC went ahead just before the 20 minute mark when Tsubasa Endoh pounced on a save from the LAFC goalkeeper from Jozy Altidore’s effort.

However, TFC couldn’t hang on for all three points and were made to settle for a point when Vela scored from the spot.

The goal for the Mexican ensures that he stays ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the race for the golden boot in the MLS this season.

TFC now get a week-long break before returning to action against the Chicago Fire.
