Tylers Glasnow got all the headlines as he made a successful first appearance since May. He threw some nasty fastball to remove the threat of Bo Bichette. He also disposed of Rowdy Tellez and Teoscar Hernandez. He also walked Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Avisail Garcia and Austin Meadows both homered for Tampa. The hosts remain one game ahead of Oakland at the top for the AL wild card. The Rays have now won ten of their past eleven games and outscored the Jays 24-10 in this series.
Toronto have lost seven straight games; their longest since April 2017. The current record for the Blue Jays is 55-89, which means they are on pace to lose 100 games for the first time since 1977-79.
Meanwhile, Jacob Waguespack gave up six runs over seven hits in 4 1/3 innings.
The Blue Jays have a few days to recover before taking on the Boston Red Sox in Toronto on Tuesday.
