Toronto Blue Jays 7 Baltimore Orioles 2

The Toronto Blue Jays went into Monday’s tilt with the Orioles looking to make amends for the debacle against the Rays on Sunday.

You tend to learn a lot about a team when adversity sets in.

If Monday is any indiction the future for the Jays is bright.

Maybe not for this season but Torontos ability to rebound and put forth a strong showing against Baltimore is a good sign.

Toronto sent there ace Hyun-jin Ryu to mound Monday, and he did not disappoint.

Ryu pitched six innings giving up just four hits and one earned run against the Orioles.

With Ryu pitching well Torontos batters went to work.

Randal Grichuk had a big night at the plate as he drove in four RBI’s going 2-5 at the plate.

Rookie Cavan Biggio also had a strong game at the plate as he batted in three RBI’s going 3-5 at the dish.

Baltimore could do little with Ryu and the Jays pitching staff, manufacturing just five hits on the night.

The Orioles used just two pitchers on Monday.

Alex Cobb started on the pitching 6.2 innings giving up eight hits and five earned runs.

With the Jays up 4-0 Dillion Tate would take over in the sixth to pitch the rest of the way for Baltimore.

With the win the Jays now sit 2.5 games behind Baltimore for third in the AL East.

Toronto will look to inch closer to Baltimore when the two teams play each other on Tuesday.

Game is set for 7:35pm EST.
