Toronto Blue Jays 8 Baltimore Orioles 7
The Blue Jays beat the Orioles on Tuesday night but it was not pretty.
Toronto sacrificed a four run lead, but with some help from the bullpen and an error by Baltimore;
The Blue Jays were able to escape with a win.
In extra innings with two men on, Toronto laid down a bunt to first.
What should have been an easy out for Baltimore was not.
Chris Davis threw to home plate, his throw took a bounce and catcher Chance Cisco could not catch it.
With Toronto up in the bottom of the tenth the Blue Jays bullpen went to work getting the outs they needed to win the game.
Anthony Bass pitched well late in the game to seal it for the Jays.
Nate Pearson got the start for Toronto on Tuesday.
The rookie pitched ok but was not impressive. Pearson went just four innings giving up five runs on four hits.
Luckily for Toronto, Baltimores starter Wade LeBlanc was less than impressive as well.
LeBlanc pitched four innings giving up five runs on five hits.
With the win Toronto moves closer to the third spot in the AL East.
Its impressive that after the young Jays struggles earlier in the against Tampa they have been able to rebound and win two in a row.
Toronto will continue its series with the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday afternoon.
Game is set for 1:05pm EST.
