Toronto Raptors 104 Brooklyn Nets 99
Toronto took a two game series lead over the Brooklyn Nets Wednesday afternoon.
The Raptors took down the seventh seeded Nets 104-99 in game two.
Fred VanVleet and Norman Powell led the way for the Raptors, scoring 24 points a piece on Wednesday.
The Raptors back court was big in game two as Lowry and VanVleet combined for 45 points 13 assists and 14 rebounds.
Toronto’s ability to defend the three point line once again shined as the Nets shot just 34 per cent from behind the arc.
While game two was much closer than game one Toronto proved why they are one of the eastern conference favourites.
Toronto held Brooklyn to just 99 points on 38 per cent shooting from the floor.
The Raptors also turned the Nets over seven-teen times leading to extra transition baskets.
While Toronto’s defence was humming their offence went to work.
Toronto shot 43 per cent from the floor while dominating inside scoring 46 points in the paint.
The Raptors struggled from behind the arc in game two shooting just 25 per cent from three point land.
But Toronto has shown all season long that they can win in a number of ways and they showed it once again on Wednesday.
Brooklyn’s Joe Harris left the bubble after game two to attend to a personal matter, no word yet on if he will be available for game three.
Toronto will look to take a 3-0 series lead against the Nets on Friday.
Tip off is set for 1:30pm EST.
