Toronto Raptors beat Atlanta Hawks 130-114

With Vince Carter and the Atlanta Hawks in town, the Raptors were able to hand the young Hawks their 36th loss of the season.

Toronto extended their winning streak to eight with the win Tuesday night at Scotiabank Arena.

The Raptors with the win have now moved into second place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 33-14.

Toronto now sits one game ahead of the second place Miami Heat who hold a record of 32-14.

The Raptors was able to hand the Hawks the 15 point loss thanks to a big effort from its front court.

Led by Serge Ibaka and Pascal Siakam dominated Atlanta in the paint.

Outscoring Atlanta 60 to 50 in the paint.

Serge Ibaka finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Pascal Siakam finished with 24 points and 9 rebounds.

The Raptors were also able to out rebound the Hawks 52 to 44 in the game.

Toronto’s defence was dominate again tonight forcing Atlanta into 18 turnovers. The Raptors were able to score 30 points on those 18 turnovers.

Atlanta’s leading scores in the game were John Collins and Trae Young.

Young finished the game with 18 points and 13 assists while Collins finished with 28 points and 12 rebounds.

It was not all good news for the Raptors. Center Marc Gasol left the game early with hamstring tightness.

Gasol missed 11 games earlier in the season with the same injury.

Toronto will now head to Cleveland where they will take on the Cavaliers Thursday night.
