Buffalo Sabres 5, Toronto Maple Leafs 3

The Buffalo Sabres were in no mood to settle for another defeat against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

They broke the tie in the third period to score three further goals and run out comfortable 5-3 victors yesterday.

Phil Engvall, Trevor Moore and John Tavares got the goals for the Maple Leafs, but it wasn’t enough to secure the victory.

This defeat comes hot off the heels of the Maple Leafs beating the Sabres in their last outing 3-0 in pre-season.

The Sabres will up for the match from the first moments, and there was two goals in the final period for Victor Olofsson.

Meanwhile, C.J Smith and James Vesey also got on the scoresheet for the Sabres.

Both Michael Hutchinson and Michal Neuvirth conceded two goals each for the Leafs in the defeat.

The latter of the two played the majority of the game and made 22 saves. Meanwhile, Hutchinson came on in relief and made nine saves.

Peace,

Burke.
