Toronto Raptors 123 Brooklyn Nets 117

The Toronto Raptors came away Friday night with a big win over the third place Nets on Friday night.

In a game riddled with COVID protocol issues for the Nets, Toronto weathered the storm.

Kevin Durant was declared a close contact of a positive test early Friday and was tested three times before Fridays game.

The tests were negative but Durant was pulled from the start of the game for precautions.

Durant was able to play after the first quarter but was pulled again in the third quarter.

After one of Durant’s tests came back inconclusive the NBA decided he need to be pulled from the game.

Toronto took advantage of the Durant-less Nets and dominated in the paint, scoring 64 points in paint to Brooklyns 40.

Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam led the way for the Raptors posting 30 and 33 points respectfully in the game.

While two of the Raptors big three dominated in the game Toronto was able to hold the Nets big two of Harden and Irving in check.

Harden finished the matchup with 17 points and 12 assists. Irving finished with 15 points and 5 assists.

Toronto exploited the Nets pour defence scoring 123 points, shooting 50 per cent from the field, shooting 40 percent from three.

With the win the Raptors now sit in seventh place in the Eastern conference holding a record of 10-12.

The Raptors are now in a playoff position.

Toronto will now head to Atlanta to take on the Hawks on Saturday night.

Tip off is set for 8pm EST.
