It is hard to look at this game and find a lot of flaws. The Leafs were competitive, limited opportunities, and produced high-quality offensive chances. The only obstacle was an outstanding showing from Connor Hellebuyck.

This wasn’t the first time the Toronto Maple Leafs were stuffed by last season’s Vezina winner. In the 10 meetings these clubs had this season, the Jets goaltender was incredible throughout. Except for the one game he was pulled after three first period goals. Otherwise, the Jets goalie has been spectacular. And last night was no different.

The Toronto Maple Leafs, after dropping to the Sens on Wednesday night, were looking to close the game strong against their divisional rival, the Winnipeg Jets. Despite Toronto putting up 15 shots in the third – and limiting the Jets to just 4, Hellebuyck was just better.
