Toronto Raptors 140 Washington Wizards 111

The Toronto Raptors dominated the Washington Wizards at Scotiabank Arena Friday night.

Toronto led from the jump and smothered the Wizards with their 8th ranked defence in the NBA.

The Raptors received contributions up and down the lineup handling the Wizards who sit at 12th in the Eastern conference.

Toronto’s defence forced the Wizards into 28 turnovers, scoring 30 points off of those turnovers.

The Wizards who have the 30th ranked defence in the NBA struggled with the multitude of weapons the Raptors have.

The Raptors depth was evident once again as Toronto had seven players finish in double digits.

With 32 assists on 48 made field goals it was a real team effort from the Raptors.

Toronto was led by Norman Powell who finished with 28 points off of the bench.

Powell has been on a tear of late since returning from injury scoring 20 points or more in his last three games.

Norman Powell has now scored 20+ points of the bench for the 10th time in his career with Toronto good for 3rd all-time in franchise history.

Terrence Davis also finished with 23 points in 24 minutes off the bench for Toronto against the Wizards.

Top scorers for the Wizards were Troy Brown who finished with 22 points and Issac Bonga who finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

The Raptors dominated the Wizards in all categories except for rebounds where the home squad were out rebounded 43-41

Toronto will have a short turn around as they will head to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves Sunday night at Target Center.
