Jays back in the win column with win over Nationals

After a turbulent day in the MLB the Jays were able to take down the Nationals.

The MLB season could possibly be in jeopardy due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the Miami Marlins clubhouse.

Over eleven Miami players and staff all tested positive before their game against the Phillies on Sunday.

The major concern is that many of those players still played on Sunday.

This has caused some major concerns among players in the league and caused Blue Jays star Bo Bichette to sit out their game on Monday night.

The Jays were still able to knock off the Nationals with out their star though.

Bichette’s replacement Teoscar Hernandez showed up big as he hit two solo home runs with five at bats in the contest.

Trent Thornton got the start for the Jays going four innings posting three strike outs with one earned run on eight hits.

Nationals starter Anibal Sanchez went five innings posting seven strikeouts giving up four runs on six hits.

With the win the Jays improve to 2-2 on the season.

Toronto will continue its three game series with the Nationals on Tuesday.

Game is scheduled to start at 6:05pm EST.
