In a night where Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant only combined to produce 26 points, the Toronto Raptors were defeated by a formidable bench performance by the Brooklyn Nets. Unlike Toronto’s last game versus the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Raptors were unable to string together the bench power they needed develop a lead.
Despite only playing three bench players, the Nets’ second unit combined for a whopping 37 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists. Mike James, who the Nets only acquired within the last month, was sensational. His shot selection and play making ability was outstanding. The fourth quarter performance from James demonstrated that the basketball journeyman is finally ready to make his NBA mark at the age of 30.
In lighter Toronto Raptors news, Kyle Lowry finally looked like himself again. For the first time since the trade deadline, Kyle was lethal from deep.
