TFC knocked out of MLS in 3-1 loss to NYCFC

Toronto FC is now out of the MLS’s back tournament.

In Sunday’s round of 16 matchup against NYC, Toronto outmatched.

Toronto offered little going forward in the match and fell behind 3-0 to NYC.

Goals for NYC were scored by Jesus Medina, Valentin Castellanos, and Maxi Moralez.

TFC got a late goal from substitute Patrick Mullins.

NYC will now move on to play the winner of Tuesdays game between the Portland Timbers and FC Cincinnati.

TFC eliminated NYC from the competition last season so this game was a bit of revenge game for NYC.

Toronto looked poor in the match.

Unable to muster much of anything going forward until late in the contest when substitutes Jozy Altidore and Jonathan Ozario came on.

NYC will now move on to the MLS quarter finals and will play on August 1st.
