Toronto Raptors celebrate 25th season with ‘Dino’ jersey

It was revealed on Friday that the Toronto Raptors are going back to their roots for the franchises 25th anniversary, with the long-awaited return of the ‘Dino’ jersey.

The NBA Champions revealed the news when they sent out a video on Twitter. The video highlighted some of the iconic moments to happen when the Raptors played in the jersey, along with some clips from last season’s memorable campaign.

The Raptors wore the iconic jerseys between 1995 and 1999. They were available in white and purple, with the latter of the colours making a comeback in the 2014-15 season to celebrate the 20th anniversary.

The jerseys have remained popular among fans as a vintage shirt, and that was highlighted when Kyle Lowry was pictured with the famous number 20 jersey during the championship parade earlier in the year.

The Raptors will begin the defence of their championship on the 22nd October when they welcome the New Orleans Pelicans to the Scotiabank.

Peace,

Burke.
