Blue Jays 5 Tampa Bay 6

Toronto went into Sundays contest against the Rays looking to rebound.

After losing Saturday to the Rays by just a run, Toronto came into Sunday’s game looking for a win.

The Jays took a commanding three run lead in the seventh inning on Sunday.

But the Jays could not hold on late as Tampa scored two in the tenth to topple the Jays.

Thomas Hatch got the start for Toronto going 2.1 innings giving up zero hits, no runs, with three strike-outs.

Anthony Kay came in to relieve hatch. Kay pitched 2.2 innings giving up three hits and allowing one run.

The Jays used six other pitchers in the contest none of which pitched more than an inning respectively.

Blake Snell got the start for Tampa going two innings giving up two hits and striking out five.

The Blue Jays had thirteen hits on the night but could only manufacture five runs. Leaving a number of men in scoring position.

This concludes the Blue Jays three game series with Tampa.

Toronto was only able to win one out of three games in their season opening series against the Rays.

The Jays now have a record of 1-2 as they head to Washington to face off against the Nationals on Monday.
