The Reds finally earned their first MLS win of the year with a 2-0 victory over the higher seeded Columbus Crew. Wednesday night’s win also marked the first win for Chris Armas as head coach of Toronto FC. Formerly the coach of the New York Red Bulls, Armas replaced the tenured, championship coach Greg Vanney who left to coach the now surging LA Galaxy this off-season.

While there is still much work to be done on both sides of the field, Toronto FC put forward their strongest performance of the year so far. While Columbus goaltender Eloy Room was confident in net for most of the evening, he was caught out on a couple of occasions. The most damaging of which led to a beautiful Jozy Altidore goal.
