The Toronto Maple Leafs have one goal and one goal only: a deep playoff run. With the Ottawa Senators already eliminated from playoff contention, the Leafs were simply looking to stay healthy, stay active, and keep practicing. Fortunately, they were able to achieve all three of these goals. They just weren’t able to win.

Coming off of the incredible home win against the Montréal Canadiens, Toronto was able to clinch its top seed as well as its playoff opponent. For the first time since 1979 when the Habs won the Stanley Cup for the fourth-consecutive year.

In other Leafs News, Frederik Andersen made his first return in net since March. The Danish star definitely showed some rust as he let in four goals on 28 shots. On the positive side, Matthews netted his 41st goal of the season. Further cementing his Rocket Richard chances.
