Toronto Raptors extend win streak to 15 with 137-126 win vs Minnesota Timberwolves

Toronto took down the Timberwolves at Scotiabank arena Monday night, extending their win streak to 15 games.

With the win the Raptors now hold the record for the longest win streak of any major Canadian sports franchise in history.

Without the services of Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka the Raptors came up big against the Wolves.

Pascal Siakam had a monster game for Toronto dropping 34 points, shooting 14 of 21 from the floor.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson got the start in place of Ibaka who sat out with the flu, scoring 19 points while grabbing 6 rebounds.

All five Raptors starters scored in double figures with no player scoring less than 15 points.

OG Anunoby stepped up for the Raptors scoring a season high 25 points while grabbing 12 rebounds.

The Raptors defence was solid Monday night, holding all-star forward Karl Anthony Towns to just 23 points.

Toronto was able to keep Towns in check but it was certainly not the Raptors best game defensively.

Minnesota shot 45% from the field and 45% from behind the arc scoring 126 points 14 points above their season average of 112.

Minnesota’s newest addition, D’Angelo Russell posted a team high 22 points in his Wolves debut.

The Raptors had a big night offensively taking advantage of the Wolves who host the leagues worst defence.

Toronto shot a blazing 57% from the field while shooting over 50% from 3 point range.

Kyle Lowry returned from a one game absence posting a fantastic stat line of 27 points 11 assists and 7 rebounds.

Toronto now sits just six and half games back of the first place Milwaukee Bucks.

The Raptors will now travel to Brooklyn for a meeting with the Nets Wednesday night.

This is the last game for Toronto before the NBA all star break.

The Raps will look to push the win streak to six-teen Wednesday night in Brooklyn.
