Toronto Raptors hold on late to beat Brooklyn Nets 119-118
The streak continues as the Raptors extended their winning streak to fourteen.
The Raptors historic run continued Saturday night at Barclays Center with a win over the Brooklyn Nets.
Toronto went down to the wire with a tough Nets squad on road Saturday night.
Pascal Siakam hit a go ahead free-throw with just 22 seconds remaining to lift the Raptors to victory.
Torontos backcourt was huge in the game with strong performances from Fred VanFleet and Terence Davis.
Toronto was without the services of point guard Kyle Lowry against the Nets.
The Raptors point guard, suffered whiplash in the teams win Friday night over the Pacers.
Without their leader the Raptors would also have to endure a career night from the Nets guard Caris LeVert who dropped 37 points in the game.
Spencer Dinwiddie also added 21 points and 11 assists for the Nets in the loss.
With 29 points and 6 assists from VanFleet and 20 points and 8 rebounds from Davis, the Raptors survived a late push from Brooklyn.
The Raptors dominated in the paint outscoring the Nets 52-42 in the game.
Toronto also out rebounded the Nets 48-46 grabbing 13 offensive rebounds.
Five players finished in double figures for Toronto, shooting 47 percent from the floor as a team.
The Raptors experience showed late, as the game tightened up down the stretch.
Toronto was able to make the big play late as Siakam was able to draw a foul late earning a trip to the line.
Making one of two free-throws Siakam put the Raptors in the lead.
The Raptors will now return back home, where they will look to continue the streak Monday when they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
