Once again, the late innings are proving to be a problem for the Toronto Blue Jays. Tied at 1-1 heading into the bottom of the 8th, the Blue Jays gave up 5 runs and were never able to recover. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. scored the only run for the Jays, while Adam Vaughn had two RBIs and a homerun for Chicago
The Toronto Blue Jays wasted some stellar pitching from starter Robbie Ray. The lefty struck out 13 batters over 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits. Trent Thornton picked up the loss after giving up 3 runs on 2 hits and a walk in just under an inning.
Rookie Riley Adams was another bright spot for Toronto, hitting a double for his first career hit in the debut with his parents in attendance.
