The Toronto Blue Jays’ formidable offence put the rest of the MLB on notice Saturday afternoon. After a sub-par showing on Friday, solid pitching and some heavy hitting from the top of the order combined to give Toronto a 7-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox.

5th-inning home runs from Biggio, Semien, and Bichette put the Blue Jays in full control. Vladimir Geurrero Jr. started off the affair with a 2-run shot in the 1st, his league-leading 20th. Reese McGuire put the game out of reach with one of his own in the 9th.

Steven Matz picked up his 7th win of the season in a dominant outing. The Toronto Blue Jays lefty threw for 4 hits and a run, with 8 strikeouts over 5 innings of work. Boston starter Nick Pivetta picked up the loss, with 6 runs against.

Next Matchup: @BlueJays at @RedSox on Sunday June 13th at 1:10pm
