Not even a 16-hit effort could give the Toronto Blue Jays a comfortable lead at Fenway on Friday night. The Jays doubled up on the Red Sox in terms of hits and were up 5-1 after the top of the 6th. Ross Stripling got roughed up for 3 runs in the inning, which spelled the end of the night for the righty. Rafael Dolis picked up the loss for the Blue Jays, giving up the winning run in the 9th.

Teoscar Hernandez and Bo Bichette had 3 RBIs between them, while Vladdy Guerrero Jr. crushed one over the Green Monster in the 6th for a 2-run homer. The Toronto Blue Jays’ stud had a team high 3 hits on the evening.

With the loss, Toronto now sits 4th in the AL East, while the Red Sox sit a game back of division-leading Tampa Bay.
