Toronto Raptors 122, Washington Wizards 118

The Toronto Raptors recorded their fourth win on the bounce last night, as they secured a 122-118 victory over the Washington Wizards.

The Raptors started very strong and never looked back. They led 40-23 after the opening period and built on that over the next two periods.

While it wasn’t spectacular, the Raptors were efficient in the periods. Washington out scored the Raptors in both of these periods. However, they were never to really make a dent into the Raptors lead.

It was a case of Toronto holding on in the final period as the Wizards pushed hard to catch the Raptors. Washington outscored Toronto 33-26 in the final period, but the home side managed to hold on at the Scotiabank.

Toronto chose to rest Pascal Siakam ahead of a busy festive period. The home side were led by Kyle Lowry, who scored 26 points. Meanwhile, Serge Ibaka finished with 23.

Fred VanFleet has been in excellent form this season, and he continued in his good form by scoring 18.

OG Anunoby also scored 18, while Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Patrick McCaw also ended with 14 and 11 points respectively.

The Wizards were led by an excellent 37 points from Bradley Beal. Ish Smith was also in excellent form as he scored 26 points. Isaiah Smith and Davis Bertans scored 13 and 10 points respectively.

The Raptors are back in action tonight as they take on the Dallas Mavericks at the Scotiabank.

Peace,

Burke.
