Toronto Maple Leafs 2, St Louis Blues 3

The Toronto Maple Leafs were floored on Monday evening by the travelling St. Louis Blues.

The Maple Leafs were much more competitive than they have been over recent weeks but Alex Pietrangelo’s winner was enough to secure a 3-2 win for the Stanley Cup champions.

Toronto were condemned to a second straight defeat as goals from Frederik Guthier and William Nylander wasn’t enough to set up a grand slam finish.

Brayden Schenn put the Blues ahead before Oscar Sundqvist restored that lead.

Frederik Andersen was back in between the sticks for the Leafs but he was helpless to save the team from losing.

Toronto did do well by getting themselves back into the game, but there are recurring problems that are becoming a problem for Mike Babcock’s side.

Toronto play next on Thursday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Peace,

Burke.
