Toronto Maple Leafs 4, Minnesota Wild 2

The Toronto Maple Leafs improved their record to four wins for the season with a blistering pace against the Minnesota Wild last night.

The Leafs trailed after the opening frame but hit back in style when the two teams re-emerged.

Toronto scored four quick-fire goals in the second period to put the game almost out of sight.

They were forced to hang on a little in the final period as Wild pulled another goal back, but the Leafs performance in that second period deserved the win.

Mitch Marner got the ball rolling for the Leafs before further goals were added by Andreas Johnson, Austin Matthews and John Tavares.

Frederik Andersen was in solid form as he made 29 saves in the win. It was certainly a positive result for the Leafs as they came into the match with an air of inconsistency about them.

The Maple Leafs can make it two wins on the bounce when they travel to the Washington Capitals in their next game.

Peace,

Burke.
