Toronto FC Beat NYC FC 1-0

The Reds kicked off their 2020 home opener with a big win over New York City FC.

On a chilly night at BMO Field Toronto FC was able to come away with the victory over New York.

Playing a 4-4-2 counter attacking style Toronto was able to create a number chances on Saturday night.

TFC gave up much of the possession to New York on Saturday as NYC held 52 percent of the possession in the game.

While NYC held possession, Toronto was able to create scoring chances on the counter.

TFC created nine shots on net while producing six corners kicks.

The lone goal in the game came from Toronto’s rookie star Ifunanyachi Achara.

Scoring in the 81st minute Achara lifted TFC to victory.

With the win Toronto moves to 1-1-0 on the season and currently sit tied for second in the Eastern Conference.

TFC will now head to Nashville where they will take on Nashville SC.

Kick off is March 14th at 4pm EST.
