Toronto Raptors 133, Cleveland Cavaliers 113
The Toronto Raptors haven’t been in the greatest form for the past number of weeks. But, last night they were back to their very best to secure a 133-113 success over the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Scotiabank.
Toronto extended their lead with every passing period and led 37-29 after the first. That was improved in the following period when the Raptors outscored the Cavs 29-25.
The result never looked in doubt at the halfway stage of the game, and the third period truly put the game to bed. Toronto outscored their opponents 38-30.
The NBA champions were led by 33 points from Pascal Siakam. Meanwhile, Norman Powell continued his excellent run of form by scoring 26. He is now averaging 14.6 points per game this season. This number exceeded the 25 he scored in the last outing against the Nets.
Kyle Lowry had 20 points, while Serge Ibaka had 14 and OG Anunoby had 12.
Cleveland were led by 25 from Collin Sexton, while Darius Garland also scored high, with 20 points. Tristan Thompson had 18, while Cedi Osman’s 12 ensured he was the only other player for the Cavs to score more than ten.
The Raptors enjoyed success in the field, as they were successful on 58.4% of their attempts. They even shot 50% of their free-throw efforts, which was much higher than the 34.3% that the Cavs shot.
Toronto are back in action on Wednesday night as they take on the Detroit Pistons on the road.
