The NBA regular season ended on Sunday as the Toronto Raptors and the rest of the league played their final 72nd game. Despite the condensed scheduled, it feels as though the Toronto Raptors had the longest season in franchise history.
Toronto’s 2020-21 season can be categorized into almost five different periods; the rough start, the surge, the COVID outbreak, the mini bounce back, and the tank. Each time, Raptors coach Nick Nurse put together a variety of starting lineups (and coaching lineups) with players constantly missing time due to injury, rest, or health and safety protocols.
In light of all these challenges, the Toronto Raptors still have a lot to look forward to. For the first time since Jakob Poeltl, the Toronto Raptors will be in the draft lottery. And if that doesn’t make you happy, just look at how well our rookies from this year are developing.
