The Raptors are back in the win column and are ending 2019 on a high note after a twenty point victory over the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers.
Scotiabank arena continues to be a safe haven for the Raptors as they improve their home record to 14-5 on the season.
Slow out of the gate. The Raptors used a big second quarter to pull away from the Cavaliers and never looked back, out scoring Cleveland in the quarter 32-18.
Toronto was again without the services of Pascal Siakam, Marc Gasol, and Norman Powell. The Raptors still managed to beat the Cavaliers by twenty points.
All-star guard Kyle Lowry led the Raptors to the blow out victory. Lowry finished the game with 24 points and 8 assists, continuing his strong play since returning from injury.
OG Anunoby also provided the spark for the Raptors posting 12 points 7 rebounds and 4 assists in 30 minutes of play.
Anunoby in the month of December shot just 19.8% from three point land but finished tonight two for two, which is encouraging going into 2020.
Behind the arc was the difference in the win against the Cavaliers as the Raptors shot a scorching 43.6% (17-39) from three point land while Cleveland shot just 26.3% (10-38).
The Raptors are 7-3 in their last 10 games and sit at 4th place in the eastern conference heading into the new year. The Raptors will start 2020 with a matchup against the Miami Heat on January 2nd, tip off is 9PM EST.
