Now 7-0 in his starts this season, Campbell has been able to provide a consistency in net that has translated to the Leafs’ offensive and defensive play.
Toronto, having traded with the Oilers and beat the Jets in their last three games, is now in position to extend their lead at the top of the NHL’s North division standings in a big way. Having won the Oilers series 6-3, the Toronto Maple Leafs are now in position to win their regular season series against the Jets as well. Currently leading 3-2 in their first five contests, the Leafs could look to win all head-to-head ties with two more victories versus Winnipeg.

Jack Campbell and Connor Hellebuyck built off last game’s performances with nearly perfect goaltending on both ends of the ice. Each of the netminders finished the game with a 0.92 save percentage, but the shootout ended up being the difference.
