After a day off for travel, the Toronto Blue Jays players eked out a win in a tight game against the Marlins. Miami starter Sanda Alcantara kept the offensive component of the Blue Jays roster in check for the majority of the game. He gave up only 1 run over 8 innings with 3 strikeouts. But with Yimi Garcia in to close out the 9th, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a double to deep left field allowing Cavan Biggio to score the game-winning run.

Ross Stripling allowed only 2 hits and 1 run on the evening, while striking out 7 batters. Imminent MLB All Star Vladdy Guerrero Jr. batted in the other run for the Toronto Blue Jays in the 6th.

In some good Blue Jays news, outfielder George Springer returned after missing 66 of the first 70 games. He hopes to build some momentum during the Blue Jays game today in Miami.
