The Toronto Football Club did their best to erase Saturday’s embarrassing loss against DC United. In tough against the Eastern Conference leaders from New England, the Reds jumped out to a 3-0 lead early. But they had to show defensive resolve as the talented New England squad brought the game back to within one. Ultimately, TFC held on for a 3-2 victory to snap their long losing streak.

Yeferson Soteldo, Kemar Lawrence, and Tsubasa Endoh all scored before the 25th minute, giving the Reds a comfortable early lead. But New England dominated possession throughout the game and brought the game to within 1 for a nail-biting final 10.

Less than a week removed from their release of Chris Armas as head coach, Toronto FC is hoping they can continue to build momentum from the shake up.
