Despite the immediate goal by the Winnipeg Jets, the Toronto Maple Leafs took the season series lead with a confident 4-1 victory. After the initial goal by Nikolaj Ehlers, it looked as though the Leafs were in for a similar shootout as the last game. Fortunately for Toronto, Campbell rebounded and the offence clicked.

Even though Jack Campbell faced only 26 shots on goal, many of them were high-percentage shots from the slot, the crease, or the point. While the Toronto Maple Leafs would string together strong moments in the offensive zone, the Jets would have equally dominant shifts in the Leafs’ end.

In other Leafs news, this was the second straight game where Nick Foligno netted himself a point. It was also the second straight win for the newly acquired Maple Leaf who is fitting extremely well on the top line.
