Following the Toronto Blue Jays’ recent series win versus the Atlanta Braves, the club is now second in the American League East division – trailing only the Red Sox. Unfortunately, nothing in the AL East is ever easy. After beating a quality team like Atlanta, the Jays travelled to Oakland to take on the best team in the American League, the Athletic’s.

This was Marcus Semien’s first game back in the Bay since his departure this summer. And while the Jays competed well, particularly in the outfield, the A’s firepower was just too much for Toronto to handle.

It wasn’t until Laureano’s 2 RBI home-run that this game got out of reach for the Blue Jays. After that, the offence struggled to get past the hump. The only scoring run was due to a wild pitch at the top of the 8th.
