With face coverings being a reality in our current state of the world, it was only inevitable that we would start to see some creativity in the mask department.
Not just for protection, people are now also wearing masks to make a statement.
New masks now feature everything from sayings and political statements, to graphics, superheroes, and designer patterns. While not for sale, masks from Belgian studio WeWantMore caught our attention for an obvious reason: they’re all made out of recycled sneakers.
The eye-catching masks are made from old Nike, Adidas, and Saucony sneakers. The sneakers are dissected, with the heel of the shoe covering the mouth.
Although they do provide some protection, the sporty masks are not designed to replace clinical masks. Sadly, the one-of-a-kind masks are not for sale.
It will be interesting, however, to see what the big sports brands have brewing on the mask front.
