In an era of unusual collaborations, Gucci and The North Face have teamed up to release a line of refined outdoor gear.

Gucci first teased the unlikely union via the ever-popular TikTok and Instagram. In a series of three short, nature-filled videos, viewers were made aware of the upcoming collection with a shot of a flapping flag featuring a fusion of the brands’ respective logos.

Sadly, the only information we have at time of writing is that the collaboration is actually in the works – details are still under wraps. According to Forbes, a Gucci rep confirmed over email, “We can only confirm that Gucci and the North Face will be bringing a collection to life in the coming months that celebrates the rich heritage of both brands!”

The North Face is no stranger to collaborations: in 2020, the brand has joined forces with MM6 Maison Margiela, Supreme, Junya Watanabe, and Brain Dead.

Gucci’s collaboration with the longtime outdoor brand is particularly relevant in our pandemic era, when a collective craving to reconnect to nature and the outdoors has never been stronger. Of course, for many nature cravers still want to look stylish (i.e. high fashion) while getting their fresh air fix – and that’s where Gucci comes in.
