Toronto FC draw season opener with San Jose Earthquakes 2-2

Toronto FC opened the season Saturday night at Avaya Stadium with a draw.

In a game that saw San Jose dominate possession, Toronto was unlucky to come away with the draw.

San Jose controlled the game holding 63% of possession but Toronto did well on the counter attack taking a 2-0 leading in the first half.

Toronto played well defensively in the match but conceded two goals in the second half.

San Jose scored a chip in goal off a free kick in extra time to come away with the draw.

Oswaldo Alanis scored at 90 +5 to tie the game at 2-2.

Goals for Toronto FC were scored by Alejandro Pozuelo (40) and Richie Laryea (51).

San Jose goals were scored by Andres Rios (53) and Oswaldo Alanis (90 + 5).

Toronto will now look to improve on its record when they take on New York FC on March 7th.
