Toronto FC 1 New York Red Bulls 2

TFC fell short of finishing first overall in the MLS after their loss on Sunday night.

With the supporters shield insight Toronto could not close the deal.

Toronto fell behind early as the Red Bulls took a quick 2-0 lead.

Tom Barlow scored just 24 minutes in and Brian White would add another just two minutes later.

Toronto fought back scoring shortly into the second half.

Tsubasa Endoh was the lone goal scorer for Toronto on Sunday.

TFC fought hard until the end, dominating possession throughout but could not pull out the victory.

Torontos efforts were all for not though, as the Philadelphia Union defeated New England on Sunday which meant Toronto could not win anyway.

This marks Philadelphia’s first Supporters Shield in the franchises history.

It was a terrific season for Toronto none the less.

TFC finished second overall in the league.

While winning the shield would have been a nice way to cap the regular season Toronto has secured good playoff position.

Torontos opponent has not yet been decided but it could be Montreal if they defeat New England and Miami beats Nashville.

TFC will kick off its playoff series on November 24th.

Hopefully this gives the club time to rest its tired legs and give the team time to get some players back from injury.

Toronto was particularly banged up in the last few weeks of the season and it was a struggle for the side to be at its best.

TFC will look to make a deep run in this seasons playoffs so long as the side can get healthy enough to do so.
