Toronto Raptors have win-streak broken by Brooklyn Nets 101-91
The Raptors will head into the all-star break on a bit of a sour note, but with nothing positives to take away.
Toronto had its 15 game winning streak snapped Wednesday night at Barclays Center.
Brooklyn led Toronto all night long, the Raptors were able to draw it close multiple times but could not get it over the hump.
Without the services of Marc Gasol there was little Toronto could do on the boards against the Brooklyn bigs of Jordan and Allen.
Toronto was out rebounded 51 to 41 giving up 12 offensive boards on the game.
Serge Ibaka led the way for the Raptors in his return from a one game absence, scoring 28 points and adding 9 rebounds.
Kyle Lowry posted a triple double in the loss finishing with 12 points 12 assists and 11 rebounds.
Brooklyn was able to get contributions from all over its lineup but were led by Caris LeVert who finished with 20 points and 7 rebounds.
It was a very uncharacteristic game for the Raptors as they had 13 turnovers and were out scored in the paint 48-38.
This was Toronto’s 5th game in 7 days with Toronto still nursing injuries its safe to say there were tired legs out there.
The Raptors will head into the all-star break with a record of 40-15 sitting firmly in the second spot in the eastern conference.
Toronto holds the NBA’s third best record, trailing the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angelas Lakers.
