The Raptors squandered another big lead on Tuesday night. Bring their record to 0-3.
Toronto led by double digits at multiple junctures in their matchup with the the Sixers on Tuesday night.
Unfortunately Toronto could not seal the deal.
Turnovers and poor offensive execution killed Toronto down the stretch as they lost another tight matchup.
“We need to win and we need to win now,” said Kyle Lowry in his post game interview.
“Were not all on the same page, but we’re working towards it,” Lowry said.
Toronto has struggled to find its chemistry so far this season.
With the losses of Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol in the off season Toronto is trying to work in new additions Alex Len and Aron Baynes into the rotation.
Head coach Nick Nurse tried a different rotation in the matchup with the Sixers.
Len and Baynes saw extended minutes, while Stanley Johnson who Toronto also acquired in the offseason saw extended minutes as well.
The Raptors had much success throughout the game doing a great job limiting the Sixers offensively.
Closing out the game is where Toronto struggled. The Raptors had multiple empty offensive possessions and a numbers of turnovers.
Joel Embid led the way for Philadelphia pouring in 29 points while adding 16 rebounds.
While Embid posted big numbers Toronto did a great job guarding the big man throughout.
Most of Embids point came from the free throw line. Embid shot 14-16 from the line on the night.
The leading scorer for Toronto on Tuesday was Kyle Lowry who posted a team high 24 points while adding 8 rebounds and 9 assists.
Toronto held Philadelphia to just 25% shooting from beyond the arc on Tuesday, but were heavily out rebounded and turned the ball over 19 times.
The Raptors will have to clean up those mistakes as they look to get their first win of the season on Thursday night versus the Knicks.
Toronto will clash with the Knicks at 7:30pm EST.
