It was a cagey night for the Toronto Maple Leafs but they were eventually able to overcome the stern challenge for the Ottawa Senators, but it wasn’t easy for Mike Babcock’s side.

The Leafs eventually scored the match-deciding seventh goal through Connor Carrick in the final period. The Leafs didn’t make it easy for themselves as they trailed by two goals after the first half.

Babcock deserves credit for getting his side back into the game by changing the style that his side were playing.

Zach Hyman, Austin Matthews and Mitch Marner were the other scorers for the Maple Leafs in the victory.

Matthews scored the equalising goal in the match before the final period. It wasn’t a pretty watch for the Leafs fans, as they struggled for large periods to contain the exciting Senators forward line.

The Maple Leafs have a few days rest before taking back to the ice in Toronto on Tuesday.

Peace,

Burke.
