It was a tense night for the leaders of Ligue 1 as they needed extra time to see of the valiant hosts Villefranche.

In the end the superstars of PSG were able to avoid disaster by scoring three unanswered goals in the extra period. Julian Draxler opened the scoring ten minutes into the extra period.

The German was handed a rare star as he has found himself out of the starting eleven over recent weeks for PSG. The much changed line-up was out of sorts in the first half as they failed to get any momentum together.

That means that they threatened the goal of the minnows on very few occasions. The extra period threatened more of the same for PSG before Draxler finally broke the resistance.

The German’s goal opened the floodgates, as PSG would score a further two later in the game.

Both of which would come in the final ten minutes as first Mousa Diaby found the net after 113 minutes. Edinson Cavani made sure of the points as he fired home the third goal in the final minute.

Kylian Mbappe was given a rest at the start of the night, but was brought on as PSG chased the game.

Peace,

Burke.
