The Raptors rough start to the season continued on Saturday night with a loss to the Spurs.
In a boxing day clash against his former team, Demar DeRozan proved he’s still got it.
DeRozan scored 27 points adding 8 assists as the Spurs improved to 2-0 on the season.
Rumours swirled before the start of the season as Toronto was supposedly looking to trade for DeRozan.
Toronto has struggled to start the season on both ends of the floor.
Offensively Toronto is missing that scoring punch as Toronto still looks for Pascal Siakam to become the dominate player they know he can be.
Siakam finished with 16 points 15 rebounds and 8 assists on Saturday but Toronto is still waiting for him to become their number one option.
Toronto was led by Fred VanVleet and Chris Boucher against the Spurs.
VanVleet finished with 27 points and 9 assists while Boucher finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Torontos real down fall so far this season has been its defence.
The loss of Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol has really hindered the Raptors defence and rebounding so far this season.
Toronto was out rebounded for the second game in a row on Saturday.
The Raptors also allowed their opponent to out shoot them for the second game in a row.
Toronto’s ability to defend the three point line has been severely hampered so far this season.
The Raptors opponents have shot a combined 44% from three so far this season.
Toronto will have to make some adjustments before this season gets away from them.
The Raptors will look to get back on track on Tuesday night against the 76ers.
Toronto will clash with the Sixers at 7pm EST.
