Chris Boucher and Kyle Lowery weren’t the only ones to be beat up in tonight’s ugly loss to the Charlotte Hornets. With the sixth loss in seven games, and the fourth loss in a row, the Raptors have not been able to survive the recent COVID-induced roster subtractions with any success. Even with Kyle Lowry’s efficient 19/6/8, the Raptors couldn’t bring it together to compete with the sharpshooting Hornets.
Once again, the Toronto Raptors’ first quarter defence prevents them from staying competitive late in the game. The Charlotte Hornets shot almost 50% from the floor, and 44% from 3, tonight, putting the Raptors down 25 points in the first. Besides bringing it back to a nine-point difference in the third quarter, the Raptors sloppy defensive opening stopped them from having a close game this match and last match.
