Toronto Maple Leafs Lose to L.A. Kings 1-0

Toronto continued its Western conference road trip Thursday night with a clash against the Kings in sunny L.A.

In a game of two hot goaltenders Toronto came out with the short end of the stick Thursday night at Staples Centre.

Johnathan Quick stood on his head for the Kings saving all 36 of the shots he faced posting a shutout.

Frederik Andersen was equally impressive in net for Toronto as he also posted a shutout saving all 30 of the shots he faced.

Unfortunately for Toronto they were unable to come away with the victory as they could not find the net in the shoot-out either.

Of the four shooters Toronto sent in the shootout only William Nylander could find the back of the net.

Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and Jason Spezza were all unable to crack Quick.

L.A was able to muster two goals in the shootout thanks to goals from Anze Kopitar, and Adrian Kempe.

Kempe was the hero as his goal lifted the Kings to victory over the Leafs Thursday night.

With the loss the Leafs still sit in third place in the Atlantic Division, five points ahead of the fourth place Panthers.

Toronto will continue its road trip tonight when they take on the Anaheim Ducks in the pond.

The Leafs young legs will have to rebound quickly with such a quick turn around.

Puck drop is 10pm EST.
