Leafs add another forward for 2020-2021

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed KHL forward Alexander Barabanov to an entry level deal for 2020-2021.

Barabanov’s deal is worth $925,000 for according to tsn’s Pierre LeBrun.

The Maple Leafs were able to land the forward in-spite of the Arizona Coyotes looking to sign Barabanov as well.

Barabanov who is 25 years old played seven seasons in the KHL with SKA St. Petersburg.

Netting 17 goals racking up 46 points in 58 games in 2018-2019, Barbanov added 11 goals and 20 points over 43 games.

Barabanov will add experience to a young Leafs squad.

Winning on all levels Barabanov has won an olympic gold medal in 2018 as well as a bronze medal at the world juniors.
