TFC 5, DC United 1

The curtain came down on the MLS career on Wayne Rooney last night as he trudged off the pitch having lost 5-1 to Toronto FC.

TFC were dominant in all areas of the pitch, but didn’t make their dominance count until the extra-time period where they scored four goals.

There was a brace for Jonathan Osorio, while Richie Laryea and Nick DeLeon also got one apiece.

All the goals for Toronto came in the additional 30 minutes of play, and DC United were shell shocked.

Laryea scored the match-winning goal after a smart interception was made by Michael Bradley. The damage was firmly done two minutes later when Drew Moor towards goal before Osorio got the final touch.

TFC went ahead earlier in the game through Mark Delgado, before Lucas Rodriguez equalised for the capital club.

Peace,

Burke.
